After many years as a successful voice talent, jingle singer and recording artist, Derrick Procell turned his finely tuned ears to the producer’s chair. He began his home recording studio to work on his own creative endeavors, garnering songwriting awards and placements with music publishers.

was born more than a decade ago in a garage in Deerfield. Encouraged by colleagues to pursue a natural talent to produce music, Derrick began sharing his musical skills and high standards of production with others. Soon amateur and professional singers and songwriters were coming to the studio to tap Derrick’s keensense of songcraft and vocal production. As one client put it, “I bring him this raw idea and he magically turns it into a song!”

The studio itself is a blend of high tech digital recording and old school application. Utilizing a Mac based Pro Tools system and a Yamaha digital mixing console, Derrick is well versed in modern recording styles. Yet, he knows that there’s more to it than studio trickery. It’s got to start with the client’s needs in mind. The right microphone, the proper song arrangement, the supporting instrumentation, the right copy all make the difference between good and great.
